FALL LAUNCH - REGISTER BELOW
Legacy Christian Academy’s mission is to equip homeschool families to fight lies with the love of Jesus Christ. Kids should never believe lies like, “I can’t do it.” Let’s teach them to replace lies with love: “Jesus knows I can!”
Legacy supports families with:
- Multi-Day Classes and Tutoring.
- Clubs, Sports, Lessons, and Field Trips.
- Events for families to grow relationships.
- An apologetics-based approach to the Bible.

LEGACY LIFE

RECESS
Recess at Legacy is an intentional time for students to build friendships, stay active, and enjoy being kids. Throughout the week, students have access to a variety of spaces, including our Gym, the Big Courtyard, and the Small Patio. On rainy days, our Youth Room provides a fun and engaging indoor option. These moments create natural opportunities for connection, encouragement, and community in a safe, Christ-controlled environment.
CONNECTION DAYS
Connection Days happen at least monthly, and sometimes more! The best news is that Connection Days are for your whole family. The greatest threat to homeschool families is isolation. No child, or parent, should ever feel alone. This is why Legacy hosts Connection Days for STEM-style learning, exciting shows, sharing meals, and more.

SPECIAL EVENTS
Legacy Church of Downey is on the map for our events, with our most popular being Legacy's Harvest Festival. Annually, the church brings thousands of guests to our campus. Legacy Christian Academy participates in our church's events, and we also host specific student and family events. From service events to rally for those in need, to transforming our campus for Vacation Bible School, and everything in between, your family will make lifelong memories in our events.

MORNING DEVOTION
We want your kids to create habits that help them connect with God throughout their lives. Each morning at drop-off, Legacy gathers for a short morning devotion and guided prayer. Students are given opportunities to exercise courage by reading Bible verses and praying over our classes.

CLASSES
Legacy's hybrid homeschool program is here to support parents—not replace them. Campus instructors facilitate fun and controlled learning environments to stimulate young minds. Students receive report cards to aid parents in accessing how their kids are progressing. Away from the class, instructors are available for contact to ensure all families are equipped to meet the needs of their children. Parents are responsible for meeting state accountability requirements, including PSA, charter, or PSP oversight.

CHAPEL
Chapel happens on the first and third Tuesday of each month. The goal of Chapel is to lead your students to develop a love for God's church. While Chapel isn't a replacement for church, it does include songs of praise, a biblical message, and prayer. LCA families are encouraged to join Chapel! This is the time when our students are recognized for excellence in character and contribution.

FIELD TRIPS
We love what happens on campus, but some of the best memories are made beyond it. Our field trips give students the chance to experience the thrills of Knott’s Berry Farm, explore marine life at the Aquarium of the Pacific, encounter incredible animals at the zoo, relax and play at the beach, take in the beauty of the mountains, enjoy fun-filled days in the snow, spark creativity at LEGOLAND, step into the excitement of Universal Studios, grow curiosity at Imaginology, and enjoy unforgettable overnight adventures at Great Wolf Lodge. Each experience is designed to help students build friendships, create lasting memories, and grow together.

DRESS CODE
Lions unify in prides. We do the same. To ensure positive experiences for all, Legacy follows a dress code. We understand the benefits of kids being comfortable while representing their school spirit, so we want our students to wear Legacy Christian Academy shirts. Our dress code is flexible, and parents are provided with a list of appropriate options when they start the program. Legacy also celebrates individuality with free dress days, so long as imagery is appropriate according to LCA's discretion.

SPORTS
Our large campus and gym create opportunities for students to do more than learn in the classroom. By offering on-campus sports like basketball, football, volleyball, and soccer, we give students the chance to stay active, strengthen teamwork, grow in confidence, and experience the excitement of competition. Sports help students develop discipline, perseverance, leadership, and character while teaching them how to work together, respond to challenges, and support one another. They also create some of the most meaningful friendships, memories, and moments of school spirit along the way. The most beautiful thing about our sports program is that our schedule never compromises Legacy's church services, which are also common times other churches share.
